We invite your consideration and include a summary of our attractions and community assets below. The next move is yours!
"What no amount of lists can show is the quality of life offered in a rural community. The friendly atmosphere, the crime-free streets and avenues, the neighborly nod of heads and hellos as you pass each other on the road, and the sharing of hopes and dreams is the treasure we offer. Big cities may provide dubious excitements and lots of items you can buy. We offer the freedom of quiet reflection, community living, and a chance to rediscover your roots and values. At first, it may seem pale in comparison to the bright lights and enticements of city living. But a few mornings of seeing the sunrise over the flint hills of Kansas will convince you otherwise. Come and join us! You will never regret it." -Paul Bynum, Waterville

"In November 2010 we came to Waterville from Southern California to visit our son and daughter in law. They had moved here earlier that year. For most of that visit we stayed in the Weaver Hotel, and soon came to know what a grand lady she is. Two more trips to Waterville to visit and we were hooked. We decided to take a leap of faith and make the move and leave the traffic, the heat and smog and the busyness of life behind and take up residency in rural America. So in March of 2012 we loaded up all that would fit in the biggest u-haul truck with our car in tow, and headed to Waterville to enjoy our retirement! Our home, a 114 year old two story, is still a work in progress. But, instead of living in the "old Stryker house" we quickly renamed it, Taylors Acre!

We love this community and its people. People here plow your sidewalk when it snows. They push you out of a snow bank when you get stuck and feed you warm soup and offer you a bed when your furnace breaks down. And they bring you meals when you are sick. Waterville is a great place to call home, and as they say, there's no place like home!" -Marsha and Larry Taylor, Waterville

Let Them Sing! Children's Chorus, Waterville, KS
“Most people look at a small town and think that there is nothing to do and how boring it must be. For me it is just the opposite. The opportunity for me to raise my children in a community where they could play outside or go to a friend’s house without the worry of crime makes Waterville a great place to raise a family. My children are also able to participate in as many school and community organizations and activities as they choose without having to specialize in one sport or participate with the fear of not being good enough or getting cut from a team. Without all of the big city attractions or distractions, it gives us the opportunity to have much more family time and allow our kids to just be kids.”-Chad Parker, Waterville
